What this site collects (almost nothing), what third parties may collect when analytics and advertising are active, and how to opt out.

The short version. Every calculator on this site runs locally in your browser. The numbers you enter — system size, electricity rates, incentives — never leave your device, because the calculation happens on your device. There is no account, no sign-up and no form that transmits your inputs anywhere. We do not set tracking cookies of our own.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, physical addresses, payment details or calculator inputs. If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to send and use it only to reply or correct the site.
Local storage on your device
The calculators keep your most recent inputs in your own browser’s local storage, so a page reload does not wipe the numbers you typed. That storage sits on your device and is readable only by this site in that browser. Clearing your browser data, or using private browsing mode, removes it completely. We never read those values back to a server, because no such request exists in the code.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — which pages are read, how long visits last, and from which countries. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects device and usage data such as browser type, referring page and approximate location. We do not send it any information about your calculator inputs. You can block analytics with any browser privacy extension or by disabling JavaScript, and the calculators will still work fully.
Advertising and cookies
This site may display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info. You can also manage how Google uses advertising cookies through Google Ads Settings. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom will see a consent message before personalised ads are served, managed through Google’s certified consent management platform; you can change or withdraw your choice at any time via that message or your browser settings.
Third-party links and embeds
Pages link to official sources such as IRS and Energy.gov. We are not responsible for those sites’ privacy practices; read their policies before providing any information there.
Children
This site is a household energy planning tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
